America’s Most-Watched Network is looking more and more like America’s most-crowded network. Does CBS have enough time slots to accommodate its programming for the 2024-25 TV season?

CBS currently airs 17 scripted series per week — 13 hour-long dramas and four half-hour comedies. That’s a combined 15 hours of scripted programming.

Heading into the 2024-25 season, nine 10 hour-long dramas (Blue Bloods, Elsbeth, FBI, FBI: International, FBI: Most Wanted, Fire Country, NCIS, NCIS: Sydney, S.W.A.T. and Tracker) and two half-hour comedies (Ghosts and The Neighborhood) are already set to return.

That’s 11 (out of 15) fall programming hours potentially spoken for….

What’s more, CBS has also ordered three new dramas — Matlock (led by Kathy Bates), NCIS: Origins (a Young Gibbs-centric prequel narrated by Mark Harmon) and Watson (a medical procedural starring Morris Chestnut as Sherlock Holmes’ right-hand man) — and two new comedies — Poppa’s House (featuring Damon Wayans Sr. and Jr.) and Untitled Young Sheldon Spinoff (with Montana Jordan and Emily Osment reprising their fan-favorite roles as Georgie and Mandy) — for the 2024-25 season.

Combined with the renewed/returning programs, all 15 fall programming hours are potentially spoken for….

Lest we forget, CBS has four series — CSI: Vegas, The Equalizer, NCIS: Hawai’i and So Help Me Todd — that have yet to be renewed but could return, plus an Untitled Fire Country Spinoff (starring Morena Baccarin as Sheriff Mickey Fox) awaiting a formal series order. And we assume the network will stick with its all-reality Wednesday lineup (consisting of Survivor and The Amazing Race).

How, exactly, is CBS supposed to schedule it all? That’s where you come in!
