What Does This 'Westworld' Symbol Mean?

You might have noticed it-a plus sign with four dots around it decorating various locations throughout Westworld. In Episode Two of Season Two, when we finally see the real world, we can see that Arnold's house is decorated with the same symbol. A Reddit user caught it in the latest episode, and went back and pointed it out at a few different locations throughout the park including in Season One:

What's interesting is, as another Redditor pointed out, this symbol actually comes from ancient Greece. "A sign often found on Greek vases from around 700 B.C. It is used in certain types of cartography as a sign indicating stone bottom at the water's edge," one source on Reddit points out.

Now, this is a pretty vague description of this symbol, but it also fits thematically with what we've seen this season. At the end of Episode One, Bernard and the Delos response team travel to a bizarre cluster of hosts in Westworld, only to find them drowned at the bottom of a lake that's not supposed to be there.

A number of fans have been theorizing this season that the weapon that Dolores and William are trying to get to is a dam that will flood the park. It was built as a failsafe in case the hosts get out of hand. Other fans have theorized that hosts don't need to breathe and are therefore lying dormant beneath this lake, and the flooding would only kill the remaining humans in the park.

Alternately, it could be that the weapon, as others have theorized, is the emitter that activates all the hosts in the real world that are guests replaced by Delos. Perhaps that's hidden beneath this secret lake. Or maybe it means nothing other than: in the future, people think a plus with four dots looks really cool to decorate random shit with.
