Doechii Escapes A Crazy Laboratory In “Pacer” Music Video

Doechii’s visuals have consistently been known to move the needle, and her latest release “Pacer” is no exception. The Top Dawg Entertainment signee previously previewed the song during her Coachella performance earlier this year.

The Nikko Lamere-directed clip opens up with a scene of the “What’s Your Name?” rapper being dragged into an evil underground laboratory, where she is poked and prodded with wires, needles, and more. Eventually, the rush of adrenaline breaks her free from captivity, and she takes over the entire operation.

“I’m a rockstar, I’m on God’s timing/ Need a rockstar, handle my type/ N***as want the s**t, bring the clique, throw a f**kin’ fit/ Open up the pit, let it rip, he a f**kin’ b**ch,” the 25-year-old talent shouts over the booming instrumental.

Doechii’s most recent body of work was August 2022’s she / her / black b**ch, a five-track offering that peaked at No. 23 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart. The EP boasted contributions from Rico Nasty, Jst Ray, and SZA, the last of whom hopped on the official remix of “Persuasive.” Since then, she treated fans with singles like “Stressed,” “Booty Drop,” “Universal Swamp Anthem,” and “What It Is (Block Boy)” featuring Kodak Black.

Outside of her own releases, the “Crazy” rapper could also be heard on recent collaborations like “Phenomenal” by Janelle Monáe, “Girls Night Out” by Babyface, “Pro Freak” by Smino, “Xtasy (Remix)” by Ravyn Lenae, and more.

Additionally, the self-proclaimed “Swamp Princess” recently carried out an electrifying performance at the 2023 BET Awards, where she delivered renditions of “Booty Drop” and “What It Is”/”Some Cut.” For the latter track, she was joined by legendary southern band Trillville onstage. Revisit her performance below.
