"Into the Spotlight: The Jake Ilardi Story," the locally produced documentary about Sarasota Olympic skateboarder Jake Ilardi, will have its first local public screening at 7 p.m. April 8, on Screen 7 of the Regal Hollywood Theatre as part of the 26th annual Sarasota Film Festival.

The documentary follows the life of Ilardi, an Osprey resident turned professional skateboarder who became a member of the first U.S. Olympic skateboarding team at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

The documentary was created by Jake’s twin brother Nate Ilardi and their longtime friend Liam Jordan.

A private screening occurred in February but this is the first time members of the public can watch the film.
