In the trailer, the 15th doctor and Ruby can be see roaming with the dinosaurs, ballroom dancing in victorian England and fighting off alien creatures in a war-torn future. In a peak at the climatic finish, Ruby triumphantly exclaims, “…to realize what I am meant to do. I’m going to save the world.”

In a conversation with Variety, series veteran Russel T. Davies, who will serve as showrunner, executive producer and writer, expressed his excitement to return to the world of “Doctor Who.”

“At last, it’s my great delight to unleash a whole new season of the Doctor and Ruby’s adventures together,” Davies said. “Monsters! Chases! Villains! Mysteries! And a terrifying secret that’s been spanning time and space for decades. Don’t miss a second!”

“Doctor Who” is produced by Bad Wolf with BBC Studios for Disney Branded Television and BBC. Phil Collinson, Joel Collins, Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter serve as executive producers. The new season will feature episodes directed by Ben Chessell, Jamie Donoughue, Julie Anne Robinson and Dylan Holmes Williams.
