Dita Von Teese is back to dazzling on stage.

On Thursday night, Von Teese, 51, launched her new burlesque show at Horseshoe Las Vegas’s Jubilee Theater, marking the first showgirls production to hit the city in six years.

DITA LAS VEGAS: A Jubilant Revue is part burlesque and part Vegas showgirl, and while the show highlights her cavalry of both male and female dancers as much as it does Von Teese, the was no mistaking who the star of the show was on Thursday night.

The burlesque star descended from the rafters to begin the evening and she was a clear master of ceremonies during a circus-themed act. Von Teese was also front and center during a pink and sparkly cowboy-themed sequence that would make Barbie proud — she even rode a pink mechanical bull while wearing nipple pasties.

Von Teese — whose real name is Heather Sweet — used modern graphics to bring burlesque into the 21st century and included a slew of dramatic set pieces. During one moment, a video of Von Teese played on an oversized video screen while her dancers wore risqué black leather — including masks — as they see-sawed on swings. While it was more provocative than anything that would have been deemed acceptable during the height of burlesque in the '40s or '50s, her new show was innovative and dazzling to behold.

Though Von Teese has undoubtedly been the modern-day face of burlesque since the ‘90s, she paid homage to the roots of the art form, as Betty Page, often referred to as the “Queen of Pinups,” was also honored during the performance. Von Teese’s dancers recreated many of the late actress’ famous poses.

The show also gave another nod to the past, as it featured costumes and sets from Las Vegas’s famed showgirls revue Jubilee, which ran from 1981 to 2016 at the same theater.

During an exclusive interview with PEOPLE in July, Von Teese revealed that she was using some of the Jubilee costumes and sets in her new performance, including feathers that cost $1 million in 1981 when Jubliee was first performed.

“I feel like I've seen all the showgirls shows out there, but not on this scale anywhere,” she said. “The costumes in this is bonkers. The amount of feathers in this show cost something like $1 million dollars — just the feathers, not the costumes, the feathers. That was in 1981, so I don't know how much that is now.”

However, she added that she was “not trying to recreate Jubilee."

"What I'm trying to do is merge my tour and bringing the crème de la crème of burlesque and dance world into one show. I'm just bringing in all of my own personal obsessions and fantasies and the best of what I love about burlesque and merge it together with a little wink of the eye toward Jubilee. I think Vegas needs something that continues the art of the showgirl and the art of burlesque," she said.

Although she’s headlined shows all around the world, Von Teese's latest show doesn't miss out on one element that people know and love her for: her famous oversized martini glass — the same one that featured in Taylor Swift’s “Bejeweled” music video.

But the star made the crowd wait for the martini moment on Thursday night, only performing it toward the end. In fact, she brought out five glasses onto the stage. Following a slow striptease that was vintage Von Tease, the former Playboy model climbed into the glass, splashed around and sensually covered herself with water via a strawberry-shaped sponge.

Von Teese had previously revealed that she planned to bring out more than one Martini glass during the new show.

"You're not going to just see the glass. I'm going to put all of my glasses on stage,” she told PEOPLE in July. “I have enough for a full cocktail party. I probably won’t put all of them on stage, but I'm gonna put at least five up there.”

The burlesque performer also talked earlier in the year about her desire to keep innovating in world of burlesque.

“Let’s never move in reverse, let's keep evolving burlesque to a new place because there's no point in making an old, tiny show that was done in the ‘40s or ‘50s,” Von Teese said of approach to A Jubilant Revue.

“My creative partner Catherine D’Lish and I never did that. We always thought about how to innovate and make things more relevant and new and fresh,” she added.

Ahead of the Thursday debut, Von Teese also shared her delight at the launch of her new show on social media.

#DitaLasVegas opens TONIGHT @horseshoevegas in the legendary Jubilee Theater!" she wrote on Instagram, alongside a promotional shot of herself in costume for the performance.
