District 13 Citizen Poster: Plutarch Heavensbee

Fresh on the heels of last week’s first teaser trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part I, which promptly set the internet ablaze, come more big reveals from the Capitol. Yahoo Movies has the exclusive first look at the character poster for Plutarch Heavensbee (the late, great Philip Seymour Hoffman), whose voice provides the rebellion’s rallying call in the buzzed-about preview.

As you can see above, our latest peek is a simple but searing portrait of the former Head Gamemaker, now ally to Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) as he stands chameleon-like in gray hues before the daunting wall surrounding Panem’s last district.

Hoffman tragically passed away in February of a drug overdose, when he was nearly done filming all of his scenes for both Mockingjay - Part I (in theaters Nov. 21) and Mockingjay - Part II (due Nov. 20, 2015), but contrary to initial reports that his character would be “digitally recreated,” the producers and filmmakers have since said no such CGI effects will be necessary. Regardless, Hoffman’s scenes in the next two films will carry added poignancy as the revolution blazes its way through the series.
