Disney World sets dates for 2024 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Walt Disney World has announced dates and some details for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, the after-hours holiday event at Magic Kingdom theme park.

Not-So-Scary will be held on 38 select nights between Aug. 9 and Oct. 31 this year, Disney has confirmed.

A few additions and changes have been announced. Visitors will have meet-and-greet opportunities with Bruno, the not-talked-about (yet sung about) character from “Encanto,” alongside Mirabel in Fairytale Garden. A new dance party will be called DescenDANCE in Tomorrowland, and it’s tied to a new movie titled “Descendants: The Rise of the Red,” which premieres on Disney+ on July 12.

Disney released images of new Halloween costumes for Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, which are green and purple and described on the official Disney Parks Blog as “neon spiderweb attire.”

It was also announced that there would be an increase in the number of villains seen at Not-So-Scary and that Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade will have an earlier start time than in the past. (Start times have not been shared.)

Also returning to the event are “Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular” show with fireworks, lasers and other effects; the “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular” on the Cinderella Castle stage; Halloween effects on Space Mountain, Mad Tea Party and Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor; event merchandise; and parkwide trick-or-treating.

Tickets go on sale to the general public for the Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on May 15. Ticket prices have not been announced. All 38 nights of the event were sell-outs last year.

Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights, an extra-ticket, after-hours event, begins Aug. 30. SeaWorld Orlando’s Halloween Spooktacular, a daytime event included with park admission, begins Aug. 31. SeaWorld’s after-hours Howl-O-Scream starts Sept. 6.
