Disney teases Star Wars land with construction video

Construction has started on Disney’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge theme park and the first videos of its progress look amazing. What did the worlds we love in that faraway galaxy look like before they came into our lives, fully formed?

If the constructed land looks unfamiliar — as does the concept art at the end — it’s because this isn’t anywhere we’ve been before. Disney revealed that this park is going to look like a planet called Batuu, an Outer Rim planet we’ve never been to before. That alone is exciting, and Batuu will have to be able to house attractions relevant to all 10 movies (and yes, by the time the park opens, there will be 10). No sign of the Millennium Falcon yet, but it’s coming — and it’ll be a fixture.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens in 2019.
