Disney Parks Are Already Counting Down to Halloween with Events and Treats (Including Hocus Pocus Cauldron Bombs)

It still feels like summer is miles (and miles) away. But at the Disney Parks, things are taking a ghoulish turn: The annual Halfway to Halloween celebration is officially underway. There are tons of limited-time goodies and events to take advantage of at the parks (and at home) this year. The spooky shindig kicked off on May 7 with a TikTok event live from the Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World Resort, but no worries if you missed it: We’ve got all the deets right here.

Self-Guided Online Tours

Check out Disney’s most haunting attractions from the comfort of your couch. Uncle Deadly from The Muppets gang will escort you on a strange trip through Disney World’s Haunted Mansion, Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion, the Mystic Manor at Hong Kong Disney Resort and Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris. You’ll learn exclusive tricks and secrets behind each location, plus be rewarded with a sneak peek of the new Muppets Haunted Mansion special coming to Disney+ this fall, if you explore all four locations.

Limited-Time Treats and Spooky Recipes

If you happen to be in Disney World this week, you can score everything from pumpkin pie milkshakes to a chocolate chip cookie-pie hybrid at select locations within the park. Our favorite is hands-down the Hocus Pocus-inspired Cauldron Cocoa Bomb, available at The Ganachery at Disney Springs. The dark chocolate cauldron is filled with hot cocoa mix and eerie green marshmallows, plus comes complete with an edible image of the Sanderson Sisters and a chocolate broom stirrer—all that’s missing is a mug of hot milk.

If you’re like us and celebrating from afar, the Disney Parks Blog just released a few wickedly tasty recipes from the soon-to-be-launched Disney Villains: Devilishly Delicious Cookbook that you can make at home. Whip up an Underworld Smoothie, a blue-and-red mix of frozen fruit, ice and Greek yogurt that’s inspired by Hades’s calm and angry moods, or serve Deviled Dragon Eggs at your next fall party, a six-ingredient appetizer that’s bound to impress. (The eggs’ crystalline blue-purple appearance is all thanks to red cabbage.) You can also whip up other fall classics that are served at the parks, like Jolly Holiday Bakery Café’s Pumpkin Muffins or Epcot’s Apple Crumble Tarts.

Boo Bash at Magic Kingdom Park

Do the monster mash at Magic Kingdom Park on select nights from August 10 through Halloween. The three-hour event kicks off after the park closes with lots of music, decorations, costumes, characters, live performances and, most importantly, candy.

Ghoulish Gear and Collectibles

Whether or not you plan on visiting this year, you can still celebrate early with tons of spooky merch and just-released products. Think nuiMO plush characters dressed to the ghostly nines, Disney Villains streetwear, Haunted Mansion purses and headbands, Nightmare Before Christmas accessories, chapter books and more. Most of the products will be released online on a rolling basis from June through August (though there are a handful available on Amazon right this second…).
