The House of Mouse unveiled a series of updates to its theatrical release calendar — including a release date for "The Mandalorian & Grogu" movie.

How far will Disney's live-action Moana go? Back by one year, according to the studio's latest announcement about its theatrical release schedule.

The House of Mouse revealed Friday that its planned live-action adaptation of the beloved 2016 animated film will move 13 months from its originally slated June 27, 2025 release date to its new premiere date of July 10, 2026. (Entertainment Weekly has reached out to representatives for Disney for comment.)

Disney's roster of slate changes also included confirmation that a previously untitled Pixar movie, set to debut on June 19, 2026 is the long-awaited sequel Toy Story 5. Other altered or first-announced release dates include The Amateur (Nov. 8 to April 11, 2025); Nightbitch (Dec. 6); The Mandalorian & Grogu (May 22, 2026), and Tron: Ares (Oct. 10, 2025).

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is set to produce and star in the live-action Moana movie, after previously voicing the character of Maui, a demigod who accompanies the titular character (Auli'i Cravalho, who won't return for the new production) on a cross-ocean journey to combat an ancient Polynesian curse.

"I'm deeply humbled and overcome with gratitude to bring the beautiful story of Moana to the live-action big screen," Johnson said in a statement upon the film's announcement in April 2023. "This story is my culture, and this story is emblematic of our people's grace and warrior strength. I wear this culture proudly on my skin and in my soul, and this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reunite with Maui, inspired by the mana and spirit of my late grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, is one that runs very deep for me."

Elsewhere, Disney will release a sequel to the animated feature, titled Moana 2, in November. The company unveiled earlier this week an image of a grown-up Moana as she sets sail once again in the sequel.

On the Toy Story franchise front, Buzz Lightyear voice actor Tim Allen claimed in November 2023 that Disney reached out to him about a potential sequel.

"Bob Iger, head of Disney, said it was on," Allen said on Tuesday's episode of The Tonight Show. “He actually said it was going to happen. They have reached out to Tom [Hanks] and I to reprise the roles. They're not saying anything about it."

He continued: "For people like me, it’s just like — I’m a sci-fi buff. You wonder if four was too many, is five too much? According to the scuttlebutts, the writer that's doing it wrote one of the better ones and he said, 'If I didn't get this right, I wouldn’t do it.' So it could be a very, very interesting way to reunite it."
