  • Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed Disney has "thousands of acres" to develop around its existing theme parks, enough for seven new lands

  • He also confirmed that a full Pandora land inspired by Avatar is coming to Disneyland after previously teasing just an experience

  • Disneyland also has the potential to be increased in size despite its suburban location, he said

Disney parks lovers have many more lands to look forward to, according to Bob Iger.

The Walt Disney Company CEO teased some major additions coming to Disney theme parks in the next 10 years during the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference on Tuesday, per the Orange County Register.

While the company has been transparent about potential updates they already have in the works (such as their California expansion project known as DisneylandForward), Iger got even more specific during a Q&A session at the conference.

"We have thousands of acres of lands to develop, we could actually build seven new full lands if we wanted to around the world," he said, according to the outlet.

That includes the Avatar-inspired experience coming to Disneyland that he first revealed at Disney's Q1 FY23 Earnings Results Webcast in Feb. 2023.

"We have one Avatar-based land, Pandora, in Florida. We're going to put a second one in California," he shared.

While he didn’t provide further details, this is the first confirmation that Disneyland is getting a full Avatar land and not just an attraction. The land is a long time coming, as Walt Disney World Resort’s Pandora – The World of Avatar has been open since May 2017.

Park goers could be seeing new rides and attractions that draw inspiration from fan-favorite films like Frozen, Coco, Black Panther, Tangled, Peter Pan, Zootopia, Toy Story and Tron within the next decade.

While it would be a first for Disneyland, an entire Frozen land already exists at Disneyland Hong Kong. Additionally, Shanghai Disneyland has a dedicated Zootopia land as of 2023 and a Toy Story Land is already part of Disney Studios in Orlando.

Iger added at the conference that Disney has the "ability to increase the size of Disneyland in California, which everybody thinks is kind of landlocked by 50 percent.
