Directed by Dan Mazer, Dirty Grandpa is a comedy film that revolves around Jason Kelly, a corporate lawyer, and his grandfather, Lt. Colonel Richard “Dick” Kelly. Following the death of his wife and Jason’s grandmother, Dick convinces him to go on a trip with him to Boca Raton, Florida, from their homes in Atlanta. Is there a Dirty Grandpa 2 release date?
There is no Dirty Grandpa 2 release date as the film hasn’t been officially announced yet.
As of late December 2023, the sequel to Dirty Grandpa hasn’t been officially greenlit. Even though Dirty Grandpa was commercially successful, earning $105.1 million at the global box office against its $11.5 million budget, it received extremely poor reviews from critics and has a 10% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In their reviews, many critics wondered what Robert De Niro, who portrays the eponymous grandfather, was doing in a film like this. There are reports that De Niro refused to do press for the film. Dirty Grandpa garnered five nominations at the 37th Golden Raspberry Awards, including for the Worst Picture and the Worst Actor for De Niro. Considering all this, Dirty Grandpa 2 is unlikely to happen.
