'Dirty Dancing' star Jane Brucker, who played Baby's sister -- Lisa -- has decided to pull the plug on her marriage after almost 20 years!

According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Brucker, who famously plays Jennifer Grey's sister in the popular hit film, Dirty Dancing, has filed for legal separation from her husband, Raul Vega.

In the filing, Jane lists her "date of separation" as August 1, 2021, and the former couple was married back in November 2001.  The actress cites "irreconcilable differences" as a reason for the split.

Jane and Raul have no minor children so there will be no issues with child support.  The former couple does share one adult daughter together, Rachel, born in 2003.

Interestingly, the famous actress is dealing with a similar issue to Cheryl Burke and Matthew Lawrence, involving family pets. Jane is asking that she and Raul share "joint custody" of two cats and follow a visitation schedule. In the filing, the actress is asking to have the cats for 6 months, and then pass them to her ex-husband for the next 6 months "contingent on either party's residence allowing pets."

As for spousal support, it's unclear, as Jane is asking to reserve the right for "future determination payable to Jane and Raul."

In the documents, Jane filed an income and expense declaration, which points out that she is not currently working. It describes her career as an "actor" but only had a recent gig that lasted two days, and was paid $208 an hour.  As for Raul's income, she says it sits at $2,200 a month.  She says, "I know his job and social security monthly payment."  Jane lists her pension and retirement fund payment income are $591 a month and her social security retirement income as $1,062 a month. Jane also lists another source of income as a 4-day TV job that paid $10,000.  Jane says Raul pays some of the household expenses, and her total monthly expenses are $3,293.  Jane also claims her separate assets are $91,000.

Shockingly, Brucker lists an additional source of income as "residuals and royalties from a project in 1986; the amount of income: $9,000."  Our guess is the "project" is the smash hit, Dirty Dancing, and even though Jane's role was not as big as Jennifer Grey's, it is still one of the most successful films ever made!

Hopefully, Jane is signed on for the Dirty Dancing sequel that has been reported to be coming this year!

If you aren't a huge DD fan, there is a very interesting story behind Jane's famous song in Dirty Dancing. The original song was supposed to be “Some Enchanted Evening,” but it was too expensive to secure the rights.  Jane was given the opportunity to write something, and she did!  'Hula Hana' is co-written by Jane, and she didn’t get credit for co-writing the song until years later.

Of course, the film became a monster hit, but Jane wasn't receiving the credit or money she deserved.  So, she called Dirty Dancing choreographer, Kenny Ortega, after hearing about the song being used in a stage production. Apparently, Kenny agreed to a 50/50 split on the residuals, but only after Jane agreed to sing on the phone to Kenny, her famous last note of the song, "away, away, awaaaaay."
