Yes, you can have the time of your life. It's possible, but only if you make it to the Amphitheatre at Old School Square for "Dirty Dancing LIVE in Concert" on Friday, Dec. 15.

Presented by the Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority, this is a live film-to-concert experience of the classic film and the only one planned for South Florida this year.

It will feature a showing of the digitally-remastered hit film on a full-size cinema screen with a live band, featuring five musicians and four singers. They will perform the film's iconic songs in perfect synch with the film.

Watch, sing, dance and dream the night away to classics like "You Don't Own Me," "Where Are You Tonight," "Love is Strange," "Hungry Eyes" and, of course, "(I've Had) The Time of My Life."

Set in 1963, the film is about Frances "Baby" Houseman, a sweet, teenage daddy's girl who goes with her family to a resort in upstate New York's Catskill Mountains and becomes infatuated with the camp's dance instructor, Johnny Castle. They grow closer as he teaches her to "dirty dance" at the nightly staff parties she sneaks away to attend.

Released in 1987, the film starring Patrick Swayze, Jennifer Grey and Jerry Orbach was originally predicted to be a flop. Instead it resonated with audiences — and now, several generations of them, becoming an all-time classic.

Following the screening, the band and singers will perform at an encore party that will keep the time of your life flowing while you sing and dance along to your favorite songs from the movie.
