DirecTV’s ‘NFL Sunday Ticket’ Stream Glitches for Second Week, Prompting Outrage From Fans
Fans hoping to watch Sunday football through DirecTV’s “NFL Sunday Ticket” streaming package were sorely disappointed when the website and app glitched for the second week in a row — but now at least they’ll be reimbursed for their troubles.
After many who subscribe to the digital package were unable to access the afternoon match ups, the company says they’ll be making sure anyone affected gets their money back.
“We will begin to reach out to our customers who were unable to stream some of the games on Sunday to let them know we will automatically reimburse them for week two,” a spokesperson for DirecTV said in a statement to TheWrap. “We apologize to our customers for their experience and for the inconvenience.”
The company previously addressed the issue on social media, letting angry customers know they were working on the issue around noon on Sunday.

“We’re aware customers are temporarily unable to stream NFL Sunday Ticket through the app, and will share more when we restore the programming,” the company tweeted.
Within an hour, DirecTV sent an updated tweet that the streams had resumed, but fans were still frustrated that they had missed much of the afternoon football games in the meantime.
A spokesperson for DirecTV didn’t immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
The “NFL Sunday Ticket” streaming package is a special offering that allows football fans to have access to the games online or through the app without having a regular DirecTV cable subscricption. The plan costs about $400 for the season, or $99 per month.
Many fans who were disgruntled took to social media to express their displeasure, including NFL reporters. The tweets quickly gained traction as many others were experiencing the same issues. Some of the reactions are below.
