Digital Star Lauren Giraldo’s ‘Lady Bits’ Series Coming to Fullscreen Subscription Service

Popular teen digital personality Lauren Giraldo will produce and star in short-form digital series “Lady Bits with Lauren Giraldo” focusing on women’s rights, premiering January 2017 exclusively on Fullscreen’s subscription VOD service.

In each segment of the 12-epsiode series, Giraldo will explore topics including what it means to be a young woman today; the intersection of fashion and feminism; slut-shaming in the music industry; leaked celebrity nude photos; and the paradox of being a role model on the internet. TV producer Whitnee Null will serve alongside Giraldo as executive producer on “Lady Bits.”

“I’m so excited to have the platform to spread awareness and discuss such important topics surrounding women’s rights and equality,” Giraldo said in a prepared statement. “This is such a passion project of mine, and Fullscreen is a perfect partner to bring this project to life.”

After rising to digital fame on Twitter’s Vine, 18-year-old Giraldo has launched a career as a recording artist and actress. She is currently recording her debut album with the first single slated to debut in January and will appear in the forthcoming indie film “Hope Springs Eternal,” set for theatrical release in 2017.

Giraldo can currently be seen as the host of Awesomeness TV’s clip show “Lauren Against the Internet” on Verizon’s Go90. In addition, she is executive producing a Latina TV docu-series with Covert Media, which is currently in the casting phase.

The Miami native has garnered a social-media following of over 5 million followers across her channels, and has attended and participated in events such as the 2016 American Music Awards, 2016 Billboard Music Awards, the 64th Annual Miss Universe Pageant and Univision’s Premios Lo Nuestros Awards. Giraldo is repped by Scale Management, WME and SGSBC.

Fullscreen Media launched the subscription VOD service in 2016, billed as a Netflix-style service tailored to Gen Z and young adult audiences. The service, which costs $5.99 per month, offers more than 1,500 hours of original and licensed TV shows, movies and short-form content.

Original Fullscreen series include Bret Easton Ellis thriller “The Deleted”; “Magic Funhouse,” an adult show about a kids show featuring Brandon Rogers; “Electra Woman & Dyna Girl” starring Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart; as well as talk shows including “Shane & Friends” with Shane Dawson, “Not Too Deep” with Grace Helbig and “Apologies in Advance” with Andrea Russett.

Fullscreen Media is owned by Otter Media, the digital-video joint venture between AT&T and Chernin Group.
