Sean “Diddy’ Combs has stepped down as chairman of REVOLT amid multiple claims of sexual assault against the mogul.

On Tuesday (Nov. 28), news of Combs’ departure from his position was first reported by TMZ and confirmed via a statement on the company’s official Instagram account. “Sean Combs has stepped down from his position as chairman of Revolt,” the message read, in part.

“While Mr. Combs has previously had no operational or day-to-day role in the business, this decision helps to ensure that Revolt remains steadfastly focused on our mission to create meaningful content for the culture and amplify the voices of all Black people throughout this country and the African diaspora.”

Combs’ decision has been described as “temporary” and doesn’t appear to be a full resignation.

Earlier this month, Combs’ ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit against the 54-year-old, alleging rape and years of sexual abuse during their relationship. The lawsuit, which was filed on Nov. 16, was settled out of court less than 24 hours later, with both parties issuing statements in the wake of the agreement.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Ventura said of her decision to settle rather than pursue further litigation. Combs also reacted to news of the settlement, stating “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

According to the Bad Boy Records founder’s attorney, Ben Brafman, Combs’ decision to settle is not an admission of guilt, as the New York native maintains his innocence. “Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing. Mr. Combs’ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best.”

Combs has since been sued by two other women who also accuse him of rape and sexual assault. Brafman has vehemently denied those allegations, framing them as an attempt to procure a payment from his client. “These are fabricated claims falsely alleging misconduct from over 30 years ago and filed at the last minute,” Brafman said of the new filings against Combs.

“This is nothing but a money grab. Because of Mr. Combs’ fame and success, he is an easy target for anonymous accusers who lie without conscience or consequence for financial benefit. The New York Legislature surely did not intend or expect the Adult Survivors Act to be exploited by scammers. The public should be skeptical and not rush to accept these bogus allegations.”

Combs replacement as chairman of REVOLT has yet to be announced.
