Diddy, Harlem Prep School Partnership Ends Amid Sexual Assault Allegations

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ partnership with Capital Preparatory Harlem Charter School has ended amid sexual assault allegations. On Tuesday (Nov. 28), the founder of the institute Dr. Steven Perry, released a statement explaining their decision, according to The Shaderoom.

“Following a comprehensive evaluation, a decision has been made to end the partnership between Capital Preparatory Schools and Sean Combs,” Dr. Perry typed in the now-deleted statement. “While this decision was not made lightly, we firmly believe it is in the best interest of our organization’s health and future.”

The news arrives on the heels of Combs stepping down as chairman of REVOLT. On Tuesday, TMZ shared a statement from the media platform about Diddy departing his longtime role. “Sean Combs has stepped down from his position as chairman of REVOLT,” the press release states.

“While Mr. Combs has previously had no operational or day-to-day role in the business, this decision helps to ensure that REVOLT remains steadfastly focused on our mission to create meaningful content for the culture and amplify the voices of all Black people throughout this country and the African diaspora.”

The company also assured fans that Diddy’s move was “temporary” and isn’t fully leaving the company.

In mid-November, Cassie Ventura filed her groundbreaking suit against Diddy. Ventura accused the music legend of repeated physical abuse for over a decade, sex trafficking, sexual battery, sexual assault, and violations of New York City’s gender-motivated violence law. Days later, Cassie and Diddy reached a settlement for an undisclosed amount of money. The full terms of the settlement also remain confidential.

Two more lawsuits followed Ventura’s in the subsequent weeks. CNN reported that a woman named Joi Dickerson-Neal alleged that Diddy drugged and assaulted her. The second lawsuit was filed by Jane Doe, who claimed that the Bad Boy boss and R&B star Aaron Hall sexually assaulted her.

However, Combs’ camp has vehemently denied any wrongdoing. The mogul even claimed that the lawsuits were a “money grab.”

“This last-minute lawsuit is an example of how a well-intentioned law can be turned on its head,” his team said in a statement. “Ms. Dickerson’s 32-year-old story is made up and not credible. Mr. Combs never assaulted her, and she implicates companies that did not exist. This is purely a money grab and nothing more.”
