Diddy Files Motion To Dismiss Claims Made In Sexual Assault Lawsuit

Diddy has been mostly silent over the last few months while allegations continue being thrown his way, in addition to his Los Angeles and Miami homes being raided. However, his legal team has not stopped working.

People obtained legal documents that revealed the mogul is looking to dismiss certain claims involved in his sexual assault lawsuit stemming from an alleged rape that took place in 1991. A woman named Joi Dickerson-Neal claimed the Bad Boy founder drugged and raped her while she was a student at Syracuse University. His legal team, however, said that some of the allegations “were brought under statutes that did not exist at the time the alleged misconduct occurred” and that they should be dismissed with prejudice.

They specifically targeted the claims of revenge porn and human trafficking; Neal’s attorneys claimed that Puff recorded the alleged incident and shared it with people in the music industry. The “I Need A Girl” artist has already denied Neal’s allegations and claimed that she made the story up.

Joi Dickerson-Neal filed this lawsuit in November 2023, the same month that Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie, filed a suit against him for rape and sex trafficking before they quickly settled out of court.

Neal claims that she and the former REVOLT chairman went to dinner in Harlem in January 1991, Puff later driving her to a recording studio. Per the lawsuit, Neal claims she was unable to leave the vehicle as “Brother Love” drugged her, leaving her in a “physical state where she could not independently stand or walk.” They eventually went to a place where he was staying for the night, and he filmed himself sexually assaulting her. Allegedly, her male friend and others watched the “sex tape.”

Bad Boy Entertainment, Bad Boy Records, and Combs Enterprises are also listed as defendants in the lawsuit. However, his legal team claims they “fail as a matter of law” because neither entity existed at the time of the alleged crime; Bad Boy was founded in 1993 and Combs Enterprises in 2013.

This is just one of Diddy’s many legal battles within the last few months. Most recently, Lil Rod, a producer who worked with the music veteran on his October 2023 LP The Love Album: Off The Grid, filed a sexual assault lawsuit against Puff. He made several claims in the suit, namely the allegation that the father of seven engaged in “illegal activities” with several people in the music industry and made him work on music in the bathroom while he showered.

He later amended the lawsuit and claimed that Daphne Joy, 50 Cent’s ex-girlfriend, was one of Diddy’s “sex workers.” The G-Unit leader has been a constant commentator on all of the former Making The Band star’s public woes and took the opportunity to make jokes about his former partner’s alleged involvement in all of this chaos.

“I didn’t know you was a sex worker,” he wrote with eye emojis in a now-deleted Instagram post. “You little sex worker. LOL *laughing emoji* Yo this sh*t is a movie.”
