“Motown Night” turned out to have kind of a confusing ending. At the conclusion of “Premiere Night” and “Latin Night,” host Alfonso Ribeiro announced the bottom two couples based on judges’ scores and viewer votes before one was eliminated. But “Motown Night” ended with a bottom three who weren’t necessarily the actual bottom three, so it was back to the old “in jeopardy” format where the show picks random celebs for the sake of suspense before sending home the person who actually did wind up in last place. I never liked that format. Don’t be coy. Just tell us who was at the bottom.

Beckford got the lowest judges’ scores of the night — straight fives for a total of 20 out of 40 — but on “Premiere Night” he was also at the bottom of the leaderboard and was saved from the bottom two by viewer votes. So it seemed like he might have enough audience support to keep him in the game. He wound up in the “bottom” three with “Too Hot to Handle” star Harry Jowsey and “Buffy” and “How I Met Your Mother” alum Alyson Hannigan. Jowsey and Hannigan were tied for eighth place on the leaderboard, also for foxtrots — it was a foxtrot-heavy night — but it was the first time any of the three had been in jeopardy this season. Alas, Beckford’s fan base couldn’t overcome his low scores, and he was sent home in 12th place. What did you think of that outcome?
