It is been quite a week for the royal family in the midst of Prince Harry's departure from royal duties. Multiple reports have indicated that other members of the royal family were not in the know when the now infamous IG post saw the light.
After days of deliberation in emergency meetings by other senior royals and government officials, the queen has finally issued A long-form public statement on the matter. Which, contrasts with the sad-looking statement that was put out by the palace last week.
What Was Said This Time Around?
This time around the Queen put out a statement that was crafted to try and show the balance between being a granny and a head of state. She said, "My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family,” while adding, "Harry and Meghan have made clear that they do not want to be reliant on public funds in their new lives,”.
The statement goes on to say this is a complex matter and that basically the couple will be eased out of the spotlight.
Speculations & Rumors
With this new announcement came yet another wave of public reactions. There is a strong feeling on social media that the writing was on the wall for Harry before the decision was reached. Basically the sentiment is that public funding was going to be cut anyway by the queen. There where certain indications that this could happen. Especially when Harry took a step back from managing the charitable efforts he shared with his brother Prince William. Since then speculation has swirled over Harry's future in the family. As well as, his actual personal relationships with his brother and father.
What About Their Titles?
Another one of the things that has been highly discussed in the past few days is whether or not the couple will lose their titles. In this case the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex as well as the famous HRH titles. (His Royal Highness or Her Royal Highness)
This was actually a title that Harry's mother Princess Diana lost following her divorce from Prince Charles. At this point in time, there is no indication that this will be the case for Prince Harry.
Calling Canada Home
For the time being the couple will make the move to Canada, as has been widely publicized. Which, technically is still part of the dominions of the Queen. As she is head of state in the country. Even their residence choice has sparked certain debates.
There are some people, that speculate the couple could make a move to LA in the following years. Maybe if President Donald Trump leaves office. Since he is a figure that Meghan Markle had criticized quite a bit before becoming a member of the Royal family.
