Christina Aguilera brought the house down at the 2017 American Music Awards with her tribute to Whitney Houston in honor of the 25th anniversary of her seminal film, "The Bodyguard."

Stringing together some of Houston's most iconic hits -- "I Will Always Love You," "I Have Nothing," "Run To You" and "I'm Every Woman" -- Aguilera delivered the night's most memorable performance by hitting the late singer's most difficult high notes while also putting her own spin on the songs.

The triumphant moment, which ended in a celebratory "I'm Every Woman" cover that had stars like Pink, Kathryn Hahn and Chrissy Metz dancing on their feet, was a return to the spotlight for Aguilera, who has shied away from the public eye in recent years.

The "Dirrty" hitmaker looked positively gorgeous for the high-pressure performance, rocking a plunging satin black gown and a slicked back bleached 'do and minimal makeup.

People on Twitter weren't sure everyone loved the performance, though. While Aguilera delivered a chill-inducing Houston tribute, the cameras frequently cut to Pink, who was sitting in the front row. Many interpreted Pink's face during the performance to be throwing shade at her former rival and "Lady Marmalade" collaborator.

It's unclear if Pink actually wasn't into Aguilera's Houston tribute -- it's just how people on Twitter took her reaction face. During her promo tour for her recent studio album, Beautiful Trauma, the singer had indicated that she and Aguilera had worked through their former rivalry, so throwing shade her way on such a public stage would definitely come as a surprise. The "What About Us?" singer definitely knew the camera would be on her for the highly-anticipated moment.

UPDATE: Pink took to Twitter during the American Music Awards to dispel rumors that she had any sort of negative reaction to Christina Aguilera's performance.

"Christina f--king killed it tonight for one of our favorite singers ever," she tweeted. "This about Whitney, and I am in awe of Christina's talent. Show the clip where I'm in tears, you negative Nancy's."
