Born on February 29, 1960, in El Paso, Texas, U.S., Richard Ramirez was responsible for the brutal killings of 13 individuals and other crimes. He had several nicknames like Valley Intruder, Walk-In Killer, etc. However, he was most popularly known as The Night Stalker. He was not only a serial killer but also a remorseless rapist and dreaded burglar.

Richard Ramirez died at the age of 53 in Greenbrae, California on June 7, 2013. He was diagnosed with blood cancer while on death row and ended up succumbing to his illness in Marin General Hospital. He spent more of his years after being convicted of his crimes in San Quentin State Prison.

Richard Ramirez aka The Night Stalker had a difficult childhood. His father Julian Ramirez used to abuse him frequently, and he himself took a grave interest in controversial subjects and topics. Most of these interests came to him from his cousin when he was still a teenager. Young Richard seemed to be fascinated with the occult and Satanism. His cousin even taught him military skills which only helped him fulfill his desire to take lives and commit horrific crimes.

Ramirez operated mainly in Greater Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area. He was addicted to drugs and fueled his addiction by committing burglaries. His crimes would also include, murder, attempted murder, rape, attempted rape, and assault. Officials finally attested The Night Stalker on August 31, 1985. His reign of terror lasted from April 10, 1984, to August 24, 1985.

In the year 1989, he was given nineteen death sentences for thirteen murders, and a number of attempted murders, sexual assaults, and burglaries. Ramirez died in 2013 due to complications from B-cell lymphoma. His chronic drug use also made him suffer from hepatitis C viral infection.
