Landing at the bottom of the judges’ leaderboard hasn’t been that big a problem for contestants this season on “Dancing with the Stars.” Out of the six eliminations so far, only two of them actually got the lowest score of the night for their dances. Yet again on “Monster Night,” the ousted celebrity came from the middle of the leaderboard. Did “real Housewives” star Mauricio Umansky deserve to exit the competition for his tango? Watch it above, and vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.

From regular judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli, Umansky’s Argentine tango with pro partner Emma Slater scored eights, the same scores they gave him on “Most Memorable Year Night” for a contemporary routine that they thought was his best of the season up to that point. Guest judge Niecy Nash-Betts gave him a seven — who’d have thought the guest would be one of the night’s strictest critics? But after two bonus points were added to his score from the dance marathon, Umansky wound up in sixth place with 33 total points.

He scored higher than “Brady Bunch” actor Barry Williams, “Buffy” actress Alyson Hannigan and “Too Hot to Handle” reality personality Harry Jowsey, so you’d think that would have been enough of a buffer for him to survive another week. After all, despite landing in the bottom two in the very first week of the competition, he’d been safe ever since, so it seemed as though his fan base had been thoroughly activated by that initial close call.

Unfortunately for him, though, he became the latest celeb eliminated from the middle of the pack despite receiving some of his best scores. The same happened to Mira Sorvino last week. Do you think “DWTS” viewers dropped the ball by not supporting him? Vote below.
