“Basketball Wives” star Draya Michele cannot escape the internet’s wrath regarding her relationship with Houston Rockets player Jalen Green. Michele, 39, announced last week that she was pregnant by the 22-year-old athlete—much to the shock and dismay of many.
Following rumors that Green has her name tattooed on his lower stomach, Michele took to Instagram on March 14 to express her frustrations.
“I feel like I am at the bottom of a pile of heavy humans. Most hours of the day I feel like I am struggling to breathe,” she wrote. Michele’s pregnancy announcement was posted on March 8 — International Women’s Day.
The string of photos featured the caption: “As women, we navigate through so much, often leading us to question, ‘What is my purpose?’ For me, the magic lies in motherhood and the awe-inspiring ability to bring life into this world over the span of two decades...We are overjoyed to share our love for you, little girl. I’m excited to speak words to the daughter I never thought I’d have.”
However, the comments remain turned off for that post. After announcing that the couple were expecting their first child together, Michele wrote on Instagram Story: “Get comfortable being misunderstood. Only a fraction of people will be able to truly grasp your essence. You are not on anyone else’s timeline of comprehension. Also, it’s none of your business how others choose to perceive you. Most High sees you clearly – let that be enough.”
Michele already has two sons by two different men: Kniko Howard (who is in his early 20s) and Jru Scandrick, 8.
Michele, whose exes include Chris Brown, was arrested in 2011 on child endangerment charges for leaving her then underage son home alone in Wyomissing, Penn. while she worked in Philadelphia. Even though she may not like the commentary surrounding her personal life, she’s made a career out of it being so public.
