Everyone’s favorite comedienne is out on tour, and we’re very interested in getting to know some of her new friends. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 3 trailer has a Gilmore Girls crossover, courtesy of an appearance by Liza Weil (aka Paris Geller), and that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to changes Season 3 is bringing to the table. The trailer offers just a short glimpse at the role Weil will play in Midge’s life, but we’re excited to see what else the Gilmore Girls alum will be up to on the Amazon series.
This Season 3 trailer was released on October 14, and follows Midge and Susie on tour, where they have new adventures — and run into new problems. Weil appears about halfway through the trailer, seated on a bed across from Midge and doling out some life advice, seemingly about the experience of being a comedian on tour: “You see the world. The audiences, when they’re great, are really great,” she tells Midge. “And you’re not having to go to your grave not having done anything interesting.”

Midge looks inspired — but elsewhere, things aren’t quite so sunny. “I am not a prostitute, I’m a comic,” Midge tells her parents, standing in a hallway and all but stamping her feet. “Is there a difference?” her mother asks. “Yes, prostitutes get paid more,” Midge quips back. Later, she’s on the phone with a frustrated Joel: “I stepped up, I’m here!” he shouts. “Oh, and I’m not?” she replies. Yikes.
Toward the end of the trailer, Midge dramatically declares: “I am, for the first time in my life, taking charge of my destiny” — perhaps naming the theme of the season. Whatever surprises are in store, a tour means new people, new experiences, and a new side to the characters we’ve been obsessing over for the past two years. We’re dying to see how it all plays out.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 3 will be released on Amazon on December 6, 2019.
