Diane Warren musical

Diane Warren's melodies head to Broadway

The music of Diane Warren is coming to Broadway. Producer Dede Harris (Clybourne Park, War Horse) has optioned the prolific songwriter’s catalog to create an original Broadway stage musical. “It’s a thrill and an honor be able to present Diane Warren’s brilliant body of work on Broadway,” said Harris, in a statement. “Her songs are a pinnacle of popular culture and will bring fresh energy and excitement to the Great White Way.”

Warren has written more than 100 Top-10 hits for artists as varied as Elton John and Beyoncé. The Grammy winner and six-time Oscar-nominee once had seven different hits on the singles chart at the same time — each performed by a different artist. “I greatly admire the incredible shows and performers that have come from Broadway,” Warren said in a statement. “It has always been a thrill for me to write for musical artists who began their careers on the New York stage, and I’m so happy that my songs will be part of a new musical.”

Harris and her associate David Carpenter did not yet announce a timeline for when the show will open.
