Diana Ross' Grandson Is Supremely Adorable In Grammys Speech
Diana Ross’ grandson is a tough act to follow, even if the performer is Ross herself.
The Motown legend was celebrating her 75th birthday early at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, and her 9-year-old grandson Raif-Henok Emmanuel Kendrick got the honor of introducing her.
The kid charmed the audience from the moment he hit the stage. After host Alicia Keys described him as a “distinguished little guy,” Raif-Henok went to work:
“Did she say ‘little guy’?” he asked. “I’m almost 4-foot-9!”

The youngster, whose mother is Ross’ daughter, Rhonda Ross (and whose grandfather is Motown Records founder Berry Gordy) praised his grandmother’s independence and uniqueness.
“She has shown the world that nothing is beyond our reach,” he said. “So, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome by grandmommy, Diana Ross!”
The former Supreme and R&B diva, whose actual birthday is March 26, then made her grandson proud with a moving medley.
Here’s the whole sequence, from Keys’ handoff to Raif-Henok’s intro to his grandma killin’ it.
