DeVon Franklin is opening up about his split from ex-wife Meagan Good.

In a new interview with Nick Cannon for his “Counsel Culture” podcast, Franklin reflected on his breakup from Good explaining that while they may no longer be together, he doesn’t necessarily view their divorce as a failure.

“I wouldn’t say that it didn’t work. I wouldn’t say it was unsuccessful,” he told Cannon. “Because maybe it did exactly what it was trying to do. That also was a perspective that I had to kinda learn as I went through my healing. I wouldn’t necessarily say that I came out of it feeling like a failure. But I felt a little bit vulnerable. I felt like my belief system had been shaken.”

He went on to share how the two attended both pre-engagement and pre-marital counseling before tying the knot. They also continued to go to therapy throughout their nearly 10-year marriage. Despite that fact, Franklin shared that parting ways with Good still took a toll on him mentally.

“That was [a] devastating moment. And for me as a man, I had two choices,” he explained. “I could say, ‘You know what? I’m gonna act like none of this bothers me, and I’m just gonna keep going.’ Or I could just say, ‘You know what? I’m gonna be truthful. This hurts.’ And so for me, I chose the truthful route.”

As you may recall, Franklin and Good were married in June 2012 and lasted almost a decade before he filed for divorce in 2021. Though no details have ever been shared as to the reason why the two of them called it quits, Franklin cited “irreconcilable differences” on official paperwork.

Though it hasn’t been officially confirmed if Franklin is currently in a new relationship, he is open to being married again eventually. Good on the other hand has happily moved on with former Marvel star Jonathan Majors.
