Designer Brooks Stevens’ son talks about the Excalibur at Studebaker

SOUTH BEND — The Studebaker National Museum presents “Steve Stevens: From Excaliburs to Weinermobiles” at 6 p.m. Sept. 27 at 201 Chapin St.
The son of industrial designer Brooks Stevens, he will give an in-depth exploration of the design work his father did for Studebaker, which led to the famous “Mercebaker” that became the Excalibur.
Stevens will discuss the two-decade run and legacy of the Excalibur, as well as his work designing the famous line ofWienermobiles for Oscar-Mayer.
Period images and vehicle models will be available for attendees to examine after the talk. They’ll also be able to explore the current special exhibition, “Mid-Century Master: The Designs of Brooks Stevens.”
Tickets are $10-$5; free for ages 12 and younger.
