Dermot Mulroney, Evan Jonigkeit Join Starz Drama ‘The Hunting Wives’ as Series Regulars

Dermot Mulroney and Evan Jonigkeit have been cast as series regulars in the upcoming drama series “The Hunting Wives” at Starz.

They will play the respective husbands of previously announced co-leads Malin Åkerman and Brittany Snow.

Based on the book by May Cobb, “The Hunting Wives” follows Sophie (Snow) as she and her family relocate from the east coast to deep east Texas. There, Sophie “succumbs to socialite Margo Bank’s irresistible charms — and finds her life consumed by obsession, seduction, and murder,” per the official logline.

Mulroney is cast as Jed Banks, “a fifth-generation oil man, alpha millionaire and the husband of trophy-wife Margo (Åkerman). Above all else, he’s a ladies-man who loves nothing more than bringing guest stars into their marital bed. And although he’s considering a run for Texas Governor, he’s determined not to let public service get in the way of their good time.”

Mulroney recently appeared in the rom-com “Anyone But You” and the horror film “Scream VI” in addition to indie features “Breakwater” and “Ruthless.” Throughout his career, he has starred in a wide range of projects from “My Best Friend’s Wedding” to “August: Osage County.”

Meanwhile, Jonigkeit will play Sophie’s husband Graham O’Neill. He is described as a “safe, solid, and somewhat clueless husband. He loves his wife but does not know how to handle her emotional baggage. He thinks the move to Texas will help Sophie, and he encourages her involvement with Margo – but he has no idea of the Pandora’s Box it will open.”

Some of Jonigkeit’s recent credits include the limited series “Welcome to Chippendales,” the sci-fi series “Archive 81” and the rom-com “Somebody I Used to Know.”

Rebecca Cutter executive produces “The Hunting Wives” in addition to serving as writer and showrunner. Cobb also executive produces in addition to Erwin Stoff of 3 Arts Entertainment. Lionsgate Television and 3 Arts Entertainment are behind the series.

Starz ordered eight episodes of “The Hunting Wives,” with production commencing in Charlotte, North Carolina this spring.
