Derek Hough and Ne-Yo Join Jennifer Lopez as Judges on NBC’s ‘World of Dance’

The judges’ table is filling out on broadcast’s next reality competition show, “World of Dance” on NBC.

Derek Hough and Ne-Yo have been tapped as judges on the dance series, joining previously announced judge Jennifer Lopez, Variety has learned.

“World of Dance,” which was picked up this summer with a 10-episode order is described as an unparalleled dance competition that will feature solo artists competing against duos and crews in all genres of dance, including hip hop, krumping, popping, locking, tap, ballet, break dancing, ballroom, clogging, stomping and more. The winner will receive a grand prize of $1 million.

Lopez is also executive producing through her Nuyorican Productions, which is producing with Universal Television Alternative Studio. The show is made in partnership with preeminent global dance brand World of Dance.

Hough is known to TV audiences from being a pro dancer on ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars.” The two-time Emmy winner is already in the NBC family, as he’s starring in the upcoming holiday musical event “Hairspray Live!” on Dec. 7.

Ne-Yo — a Grammy-winning singer, composer, producer, actor and dancer — is also familiar to NBC viewers, as he starred in the network’s live holiday musical last year, “The Wiz Live!” as the Tin Man.

“Jennifer, Derek and Ne-Yo are three of the most accomplished dancers of their generation, and their incredible insight from the judges’ table will be both inspiring and wholly constructive to the world-class level of dancers who are competing on the show,” said Meredith Ahr, president of Universal Television Alternative Studio. “We feel so very honored that the three of them are giving back to the dance community in this way.”

No premiere date has been set for “World of Dance.”
