Derek Hough Is 'Grateful' for Wife Hayley Erbert as He Celebrates Her Birthday 1 Month After Wedding

While celebrating wife Hayley Erbert turning 29, Derek Hough said the couple have "so many beautiful things to look forward to"

Derek Hough is showering his wife Hayley Erbert with love on her special day.

The Dancing with the Stars judge shared a loving tribute for Erbert on Instagram Wednesday in honor of her 29th birthday. His post featured photos from the couple's Northern California wedding on Aug. 26.

"Happy Birthday to my beautiful WIFE! Whoah, I love saying that," began Hough, 38. "It's only been a month since we've exchanged our vows and we have already embarked on such an amazing adventure together. So many beautiful things to look forward to."

"I am grateful for it all, all the laughter, moments of joy, every tear shed, every hurdle we’ve overcome and all the moments of vulnerability we’ve shared together," he added. "Our love has truly transformed, evolving into something unshakable."

Hough wrapped up the ode to his wife simply: "Happy birthday my Love."

Hough shared a few more tributes for Erbert via his Instagram Story, including a tropical pic of the fellow dancer as he wrote, "Happy Birthday to My beautiful Wife." He also uploaded multiple videos and photos of the pair dancing together, including an underwater duet.

"My forever dance partner," Hough wrote alongside a pic of the pair dancing at their recent wedding.

Hough and Erbert got engaged in June 2022 after nearly seven years of dating. The pair were surrounded by loved ones as they tied the knot in Monterey County, California.

"When we were thinking about location we asked ourselves, 'What's important to us?'" Hough explained to PEOPLE at the time. "Nature was the first thing. We want to be around trees and plants and Northern California kind of spoke out to us. We just want people to experience this place that we love, this nature, but also, it just feels incredibly romantic."

Erbert also shared with PEOPLE, "We're in a redwood forest, but we got married right in front of this mother tree that's surrounded by all these smaller trees. They drop all the seeds, and it plants kind of like an army of children to protect the mother. The symbolism of it was beautiful. We're here, planting our seeds to grow our family."

Hough and Erbert embarked on a romantic honeymoon in Italy early last month. While abroad, Hough shared a video montage that featured the pair dancing together.
