Derek Hough convinces Jamie Lynn Spears she's a hot softball mom on“ Dancing With the Stars”

When it comes to moms 101, Jamie Lynn Spears has something to learn about being a softball mom — namely, that they can be sexy, too!

On Tuesday night's episode of Dancing With the Stars, Jamie Lynn insisted to her dancing partner Alan Bersten that as a softball mom, she wouldn't be able to achieve the level of sexiness required by their Cha-Cha for Latin Night.

But judge Derek Hough convinced her otherwise when reviewing their dance to "Shake Senora" by Pitbull featuring T-Pain & Sean Paul. "I beg to differ, I think softball moms are hot," Hough quipped.

It seemed that his dancing expertise impressed Jamie Lynn enough to sway her to change her opinion, because while awaiting final scores in the Sky Box with cohost Julianne Hough, she declared, "I'm a sexy softball mom."

Jamie Lynn has made much of her life as a "softball mom" supporting her 15-year-old daughter Maddie's softball skills. Back in August, Jamie Lynn posted a video on her Instagram stories and TikTok showcasing Maddie hitting a home run. Jamie Lynn wrote that she couldn't "wait to hear how much [Maddie] hates this post, but I do not care."

But her new acceptance of her ability to be both a softball mom and sexy was not enough to save Jamie Lynn from elimination later in the show. She and Bersten became the second couple eliminated on season 32 of Dancing With the Stars.

From the time that Jamie Lynn was announced as a contestant on DWTS, she has faced an uphill battle from devoted fans of her pop star sister, Britney, online. Many Britney Spears fans pointed to accusations that Jamie Lynn did not defend or speak up for her sister in the years during which Britney was subjected to a conservatorship by her family, a charge which Jamie Lynn has denied. Britney also indicated that she and her sister had reconciled earlier this year. Still, there was a vocal internet campaign to vote for others on the show so as to ensure Jamie Lynn was eliminated early on.

At the news of Jamie Lynn elimination, social media was awash with posts of fans reacting, sharing GIFS of Britney laughing, and celebrating her early exit from the show.

But at least Jamie Lynn can take being a "sexy softball mom" home as a win.
