DeRay Davis is calling for a battle of the comedians following Katt Williams’ explosive Club Shay Shay interview. Despite Davis being one of the few who Williams didn’t mention, the Jumping The Broom actor still shared his two cents on the sit-down and its aftermath with TMZ.

“Comedy’s different because the beef ain’t going to the streets. It ain’t leaking over,” Davis explained. “I think it’s light sparring. I think they should take it to the stage, all of ’em. I’m willing to participate. I love it.”

During Williams’ now-viral appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, the Friday After Next star called out the likes of Steve Harvey, Rickey Smiley, Cedric The Entertainer, Ludacris, Michael Blackson, Kevin Hart, and others. The 52-year-old reiterated claims that Ced stole his “best joke,” while stating who he believes is part of the Illuminati, isn’t funny, or is simply an “industry plant.

Of the proposed battle, Davis suggested, “We can all do five minutes back-to-back, brand new freestyle. We come up with rules like boxing. No preaching […] Let’s go to specifics. Let’s go to jokes. Let’s get to writing. Let’s see. I love it; I love the energy of it.”

When speaking about Williams’ interview in totality, Davis praised his fellow Wild ‘N Out alum. “The comedy world needed this energy. The world needed to see that it’s not just jokes. It’s jokes and smokes.”

Davis also weighed in on the allegation that Cedric The Entertainer hijacked Williams’ bit. “I saw the premise, but I didn’t see the similarities,” he confessed. “I’m not tryna catch [smoke] with Katt either, the man with nine lives.”
