Depeche Mode Release Bowie Cover: Listen

A studio cover of “‘Heroes’” for the song’s 40th anniversary

Depeche Mode have released an official cover of the David Bowie classic “’Heroes,’” which they’ve been performing live on their current tour. It’s released to mark the song’s 40th anniversary tomorrow. Dave Gahan and the band’s studio recording comes with a Tim Saccenti-directed video, in which the group perform in a moodily lit studio surrounded by flickering visuals. Depeche Mode, whose latest album was Spirit, were themselves covered this July by Julia Holter, Nite Jewel, and more at a tribute to L.A. filmmaker Travis Peterson.
