Dennis Quaid Files To Change Child Support For 12-Year Old Twins, Says He Has 50% Custody
Dennis Quaid filed legal documents asking for a judge to reconsider the amount he pays in child support because the actor says he is with his kids half the time and already pays all of their expenses.
According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Quaid filed a request for an order in his divorce case with ex-wife Kimberly Buffington, asking that the court reconsider exactly how much he has to pay in child support.
Dennis and Kimberly share 12-year-old twins, Thomas Boone, and Zoe Grace.

Quaid claims that in the couple's previous agreement, he is paying $13,750 per month allocated $6,875 for Zoe and $6,875 for Thomas.
But, the original agreement also states that if he makes more than $1.314 million per year, he will owe an extra payment. Dennis says his income has drastically increased in the past year, but he spends more time with the children and pays for more of the expenses than was agreed upon.
Quaid: I Have 50% Custody Of The Children
"I have and continue to exercise approximately 50% physical custody of Thomas and Zoe. Additionally, my income has increased substantially since the last order. I stipulate that I am an extraordinarily high-income earner," Quaid says in the filing.
He continues, "Therefore, I request that the Court modify the current order for child support, including but not limited to the Ostler payment which is due on February 28, 2020, and November 1, 2020. I request that the Court determine what the present guideline child support would be, and then make a below-guideline child support order based on the amount to be determined by the Court."
In the documents, Quaid says he also has $21 million in owned property.
Actor's Income Has "Increased Significantly"
Also, the calculations in the original agreement is "calculated using 25 % timeshare with the kids."
In the request, Quaid argues, "Circumstances have changed since the May 3, 2018 order. I have a timeshare of 50% physical custody of Thomas and Zoe, my earned income has increased significantly and I am paying for 100% of Thomas and Zoe's expenses for school, child care so I can work, extracurricular activities, travel and many other costs."

The Famous Quaid Twins Hospital Stay
The Quaid twins are quite famous, they made headline news days after they were born in 2007 after they developed staph infections and were admitted to the hospital. During the stay, the newborn twins nearly died from an accidental overdose of a blood-thinning drug, Heparin.
The drug, used to keep IV catheters from clotting, was used on the twins sometime after their Nov. 12 birth at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
In the end, the family sued the hospital and the company, Baxter Healthcare, saying the packaging on the medication made it too easy for the mistake it for a different dose. At the time, the twins were supposed to receive a 10-unit dose of Heplock, a diluted version of Heparin, but instead received 10,000 units of heparin.
