Denise Richards' Rocky Relationship With Ex Charlie Sheen
Actress Denise Richards was one of Hollywood's rising stars. At the height of her career, she became involved with Tinseltown's own bad boy Charlie Sheen.
It looked like Denise had a positive effect on Charlie as he tried to change his ways. Yet, their divorce and the fallout would prove that things weren't as pleasant as they seemed.
Throughout the years, the exes have faced off in court for custody of their daughters. Sheen wasn't shy about voicing his criticisms of his ex-wife and how she tried to keep him away from his kids.
Now, it looks like all that bad blood is behind the two as they're now co-parenting their children.

The couple's wedding
Denise met Charlie when they co-starred in the 2001 movie Good Advice. Denise also made a few guest appearances on Charlie's show Spin City. Their relationship became the talk of Tinseltown as it appeared Richards had helped to reform bad boy Sheen. The couple became engaged in December 2001 and married in an extravagant star-studded ceremony in June 2002. The couple wasn't shy about expressing their love for each other, and Sheen credited Richards for helping to keep him clean.
Becoming parents
After their wedding in 2002, the couple opened up about their desire to start a family. In March 2004, Denise gave birth to the couple's first child, a daughter named Sam.
Charlie already had a teen daughter named Cassandra from a previous relationship. Sheen was overjoyed to be a father again. Later that year Denise and baby Sam made a cameo appearance on Charlie's show Two and a Half Men.
In December 2004, the couple announced they were expecting their second child. However, things soon turned ugly in the Richards and Sheen household when the actress filed for divorce. In June 2005, their second daughter Lola was born in the midst of her parents' marital woes.
Divorce and custody battle
Richards and Sheen had one of the nastiest divorces in Hollywood. At the center of their battle was their daughter Sam and Lola. The reason for their divorce was due to Sheen's ongoing battle with alcohol and drugs. Richards feared for her and her daughters' safety, and at one point filed a restraining order against Sheen.
Throughout their custody battle, Sheen would go on rants against Richards, calling her every derogatory name. In 2010, Sheen was going through another turbulent divorce with his ex-wife Brooke Mueller and decided to give up custody of his daughters to Richards.
Co-parenting
Despite the bitter custody battle, Richards and Sheen were able to work out their differences. When Sheen announced he was HIV positive, Richards said she would still be there for her ex-husband.
These days Sheen and Richards share custody of Sam and Lola. The group is often photographed together out on family outings, which now include Denise's adopted daughter Eloise, Sheen's sons Bob and Max, and Denise's husband Aaron Phypers.
While the two had a tumultuous relationship, their main focus is on co-parenting and doing what's best for their children.
