Denise Richards and her husband Aaron Phypers are unharmed after getting shot at in their truck in a road range incident in Los Angeles Monday.

A representative for Richards confirmed the incident in an email to USA TODAY on Tuesday.

A week following the incident, Richards alluded to the encounter in a social media post on Nov. 23, thanking fans for their "overwhelming" display of "love and support."

"I want to give my sincerest thanks to all who have reached out to me and Aaron during this time," Richards wrote on Twitter and Instagram. "We are both very grateful to be safe."

Richards, 51, and Phypers, 50, wed in Malibu in 2018, just two days after People reported the couple, who began dating in December 2017, had gotten engaged. She was previously married to "Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen from 2002 to 2006, with whom she shares two daughters: Sami, 18, and Lola, 17. Richards adopted another daughter, Eloise, 11, in 2020.

Phypers was previously married to "Desperate Housewives" actress Nicollette Sheridan. After tying the knot in December 2015, the couple separated in June 2016 and finalized their divorce in 2018, a month before his wedding to Richards.

In 2019, Richards revealed she's been facing health issues related to an enlarged thyroid – something she wasn't aware of until fans of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" pointed it out to her.

"A few of you pointed out after the #RHOBH reunion that my thyroid was enlarged," she wrote on Instagram. "You were right, it was something I ignored until pointed out."

Richards claimed taking gluten out of her diet helped her thyroid issue.

Richards has appeared on the soap opera "The Bold and the Beautiful" since 2019.

"It is a very well-oiled machine, and they shoot pretty much two episodes a day," Richards told USA TODAY of the show in 2019. "There are a lot of pages of dialogue, so you just have to know your stuff and be ready."
