Denise Richards' Fans Have the Best Reaction to a Troll Who Accused Her of Getting a Facelift

An unfortunate side effect of celebrity means you’re constantly scrutinized, especially in the age of social media. And while that often takes an ugly turn in comment threads, one celebrity just experienced the power of loyal followers. Denise Richards is getting fan support following a facelift accusation from one particularly critical commenter — and we’re admittedly digging this culture of empowerment among the RHOBH star’s fanbase.

It all started on Monday when Richards shared a photo of herself sitting in a makeup chair on the set of Entertainment Tonight. The actress looks upward as the makeup artist uses a beauty blender to dab Richards’ jawline. “Thank you for my fab make up today @gtgervais & of course my fab hairdo @carlitos_hair,” Richards captioned the behind-the-scenes shot. Innocuous enough, right? Yet, sadly, someone still found a reason to pick apart the photo, sardonically writing, “Nice facelift!”

Only, it didn’t take long for Richards’ fans to counter the accusatory comment. “Rude,” one fan directly responded. Others praised Richards, making a point to allude to how authentic she is. “You are so damn naturally beautiful @deniserichards. And your sweet personality shows too,” one said. Another chimed in, “You look like a live Barbie doll! Such natural beauty!”

Richards has opened up in the past about her personal experience with cosmetic procedures, telling Australia’s Daily Telegraph (via Bravo) she finds it “funny” that people assume she’s had a lot of work done. “I have only done my boobs and I am very open and honest about that. I have had the same nose if people look it up, and the lips. I don’t do Botox or fillers,” she said, continuing, “And when people watch the show, my face moves, so much that it is distracting actually. I am with these beautiful women who look flawless all the time and I don’t do that stuff.”

Of course, it’s important to note that what Richards — or any woman — does with her body is her choice. Still, it’s also important to be honest so as not to create unrealistic body image standards. And, to Richards credit, she seems to be keeping it real with her fans.
