Denis Leary and O-T Fagbenle have rounded out the cast of the upcoming Netflix series “No Good Deed,” Variety has learned.

The series, which hails from “Dead to Me” creator Liz Feldman, is described as a half-hour dark comedy. The first season will consist of eight episodes. The official description states that the show “follows three very different families vying to buy the very same 1920s Spanish style villa that they think will solve all their problems. But as the sellers have already discovered, sometimes the home of your dreams can be a total nightmare.”

Leary and Fagbenle are the latest additions to the cast. Previously announced cast members are Ray Romano as well as Linda Cardellini, Luke Wilson, Teyonah Parris, Abbi Jacobson, and Poppy Liu.

Leary will play Mikey, described as “an intense ex-con whose debts have driven him to desperate measures, Mikey finds himself in a dark hole after a terrible accident derailed his sobriety and pulled him away from his family.”

Fagbenle will play Dennis, said to be a “tirelessly upbeat, deeply anxious and overly appeasing struggling writer, Dennis is in the market for a new family home for wife Carla (Teyonah Parris) and their baby on the way. He’s eager to play the role of supportive husband and father, while being caught in the middle of a tense relationship between his new wife and his overly enmeshed mother.”

Fagbenle is known for his Emmy-nominated role in the hit Hulu series “The Handmaid’s Tale,” on which he starred as Luke. His other recent TV credits include “WeCrashed” at Apple TV+ and “The First Lady” at Showtime, the last of which saw him portray President Barack Obama. In 2020, he became the first person to create, write, direct, compose, executive produce, and star in the pilot of a television series broadcast on a major network with his original comedy series “Maxxx.” The six episode series debuted on Channel 4 in the UK, before being acquired by Hulu for distribution in the US. Fagbenle is also part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, portraying Rick Mason in both the “Black Widow” film and the “Secret Invasion” Disney+ series.

He is repped by Buchwald and Hansen Jacobson.

Leary is perhaps best known onscreen for co-creating and starring in the critically-acclaimed FX series “Rescue Me.” Leary received two Emmy nominations for best actor in a drama for his work on the show and another for best writing for a drama series alongside his co-creator Peter Tolan. His other recent TV credits include “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll,” “Animal Kingdom,” and “The Moodys.”

He is repped by WME, Ziffren Brittenham, and The Lede Company.

Feldman is the creator, executive producer and showrunner. Silver Tree is set to direct the pilot and additional episodes in addition to executive producer along with Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum for Gloria Sanchez Productions as well as Christie Smith.
