Muichiro faces Gyokko and manages to rile Gyokko up by insulting his Blood Demon Art. Gyokko is surprised that Muichiro can keep up with his attacks. He ends up showing Muichiro his true form, which resembles a merman. Muichiro continues being unimpressed, which annoys Gyokko. He reminisces on how he felt seeing his brother dying and how he was saved by Amane. He also remembers how hard he trained and his motivations for defeating demons.
Muichiro gets the upper hand in battle using his Mist Breathing and successfully beheads Gyokko. Kanamori and Kotetsu go to Muichiro, who falls from exhaustion. Kotetsu tells Kanamori he was saved by having Rengoku’s hilt inside his shirt. Muichiro then remembers Rengoku and his family. Meanwhile, Tanjiro, Genya, and Nezuko are overwhelmed by their opponent. Tanjiro gets dragged into one of the dragon’s mouths, but Mitsuri saves him just in time.
