My Demon Episode 5 Recap & Spoilers: Song Kang Saves Kim Yoo-Jung’s Life

Popular K-drama My Demon aired a brand new episode 5 on Friday, December 9, 2023, at 10 p.m. KST on SBS and Netflix. The series follows the story of a demon named Jung Gu-Won (Song Kang), who falls in love with a chaebol heiress, Do Do-Hee (Kim Yoo-Jung). He is eventually hired as her bodyguard after she gets his powers. The duo enter into a contract marriage for their reasons but ultimately fall in love.

Episode 5 of My Demon showcased significant drama as Do Do-Hee’s life was in danger among members of her adoptive family. Moreover, her lingering feelings towards Gu-Won made their professional relationship even more complicated. Do Do-Hee also dealt with family politics, as her stepbrother and sister were against her becoming the chairperson. Eventually, she faced her biggest threat by the end of the episode, but Gu-Won arrived just in time to save her. Overall, the episode was worth the wait for avid fans of the drama.

My Demon Episode 5: Tensions between Song Kang and Kim Yoo-Jung lead to an exciting climax

My Demon Episode 5 picks up from where the previous episode left off. With the help of Do Do-Hee and her powers, she and Jung Gu-Won are able to fight the thugs and escape. However, the demon begins to develop feelings for her and, from then on, tries all possible things to avoid accepting it. Meanwhile, Do-Hee intends to find out whether what they both felt was real and goes to the demon’s house. But Gu-Won purposely hurts her, sending her back home.

Meanwhile, the stalker assigned to kill Do-Hee records their fight and sends it to a member of her adoptive family. However, it is still unclear as to who in the family wants to kill Do-Hee or who might have possibly killed Madam Ju (Kim Hae-Sook). The stalker sends a message, but the following scene shows two family members receiving the same – Do-Hee’s stepbrother Noh Sok-Min and his son Noh Do-Kyung. The latter also ends up killing his psychiatrist, who called him a “lunatic.”

On the other hand, Noh Sok-Min threatened the shareholders to vote for him as the acting chairman. Meanwhile, his wife at home dreams of a scene where Madam Ju suffers a heart attack, but Sok-Min distracts her. At night, the stalker converses with the killer, who forces him to kill Do-Hee as soon as possible. At the same time, Gu-Won deals with his feelings.

Impending tensions between Do-Hee and Gu-Won are visible the following day. However, the latter’s assistant mistakes a helmet-led man as Do-Hee’s killer and hits him. The employees, including Gu-Won, discover that it is his assistant. He was checking up on the demon to see if he was alright. Meanwhile, the original killer enters the office as an interviewee.

Later, the family gathered for the shareholders’ meeting, with Suk-Min appointed acting chairperson. He advises Do-Hee to take her time in finding a prospective groom, but she doesn’t want to waste any time. Her only aide in the family, Joo Seok-Hoon (Lee Sang-Yi), informs her of a possible accounting fraud and begins to investigate. The demon grows jealous of their interaction.

Do-Hee and Gu-Won continue to argue. She meets a prospective suitor and asks him to meet her in two hours to register their marriage. While returning, Gu-Won wants to look for the culprit so he doesn’t have to meet Do-Hee anymore. The two go to the attackers who tried to fight them at the beginning of the episode. Gu-Won almost kills their boss while holding Do-Hee’s hand for his powers. Do-Hee retrieves her hand just in time and eventually fires him.

She returns home only to get attacked by the stalker. He ties her to the top of the building. While he almost cuts the rope, Gu-Won arrives to save her. As the episode ends, the two look at each other with concern and emotion.
