Demi Moore bizarrely scolds audience while introducing Cher at amfAR Gala: ‘I f–king don’t think so’
Demi gave them more than expected.
Demi Moore appeared to scold an audience member while introducing Cher at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Cannes Gala on Thursday.
The “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” actress, 61, was onstage when an attendee appeared to interrupt her from the back of the Hotel du Cap, Eden Roc in Cap d’Antibes, France.
“I’m going to see if this is the moment we’ve all been waiting for,” Moore said in a video shared by Vanity Fair’s Ramin Setoodeh via X, formerly Twitter. “I’m just making sure that you’re really, really with me.”
“Because this incredible woman that I’m about to introduce — she’s a Grammy winner, an Oscar winner, an Emmy winner.”
Moore then paused, and appeared to address a heckler. “Are you an Emmy winner over there in the back of the room?” She asked. “I f–king don’t think so.”
The offhand comment received cheers from the crowd as Moore went on with her presentation.
“She’s a style icon and my personal hair inspiration. And she was honored by amfAR for their award of inspiration in 2015,” she said of 78-year-old Cher. “The bottom line is she is just one of the most talented, successful and best-loved performers of all time.”
She concluded: “So please, please give a warm welcome to the incredible, one and only, Cher.”
The Post has reached out to Moore’s rep for comment. It is unknown what the audience member said during the event.
Earlier in the night, Cher was photographed showing off major PDA with her 38-year-old boyfriend, Alexander “AE” Edwards, on the red carpet.
“He and I are gonna start a new album,” she told reporters, via Daily Mail. “We haven’t started yet; he’s going to produce it.”
The pair have been dating since 2022.
“We met because my friend kept nudging me to go ask him about his teeth,” she exclusively told The Post in October 2023. “So I’m looking at this beautiful guy with white hair, tatted up and with these teeth. And so I said, ‘Dude, I like your grill.’ And, he went, ‘No, they’re my teeth.’ And so we just talked for a second. And then I saw him again — he was with T [Tyga] at the Ann Demeulemeester show — and then we were all standing together in a picture.”
Cher continued, “So he asked my friend to send me this picture of us. And then my friend said, ‘No, send it to her yourself.’ And so he texts me, and I was in Switzerland. I just visited Tina [Turner], and I was gonna be there for a couple of weeks. So we just started texting.”
“And you can’t fall in love by text, because it’s bulls–t,'” she went on. “So then I meet Alexander, and I kept saying, ‘Dude, this is not gonna work out. I’m telling you, it’s not gonna go good. It’s just not gonna work.’ And he just wasn’t going for it.”
