David: I am from NJ, and from 1994 - 1997, I was a resident of the Atlanta area, and I spent July 4th, 1994 hiking around Stone Mountain in 95 degree weather. Despite what Stone Mountain really stands for, I feel it is an educational place to really learn about the American South, and the sculpture of the Confederate Soldiers are a piece of history and artistic pride. I can tell when I toured Stone Mountain that day, it was "Southern Pride" at its finest and very educational. I would be upset if the sculpture would be removed, because it does provide that education of history and art, and to make sure that "History Does Not Repeat Itself". I found the antique car museum quite interesting to visit, and there are a lot of things to do in and around Stone Mountain and Atlanta in general.
