Demi Lovato is Looking for 'Meaningful Relationships' Whether That's With Men or Women
Leading up to Demi Lovato's comeback performance at the Grammys, she sat down for a candid interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Music, explaining she is gender fluid and looking to settle down this decade.
When asked about what she is looking for in love in 2020, Demi said she seeks connections with people and "meaningful relationships."
"I don't know what that looks like. I don't even know if I see it with a man or a woman, but I just know that at some point I would love to do that this decade," Demi explained further, saying she'd like to start a family.

Demi is focusing on her family and friend relationships too.
Despite heavy buzz about her comeback to music, Demi made it clear in the interview that her main focus is just keeping herself happy.
"I would love to start doing more things to make me happy and worry less about success," Demi said, explaining that things like a Grammy award or number one spot don't mean as much to her as they used to.
"All that stuff is great, and if you can accomplish that, that's awesome, but I just know personally it doesn't fill that hole inside of me that only love and appreciation can fill."
Currently, she said it's friends and families sparking joy in her life. She said the holidays offered an especially great time, where she got to "lounge around in onesies" with her family eating delicious food.
Church helped her realize she was seeking God in the wrong places.
When Zane brought up religious themes in Demi's new single "Anyone," the singer explained church has recently become a part of her routine.
"I was not really a big church person even a month ago," Demi said in the interview.
She continued, "I shied away from church for many years. I didn't feel welcome. I was also questioning my sexuality."
However, she said her manager Scooter Braun introduced her to his Bible study group in Los Angeles when she was having a rough night and she felt like she finally found "a place of no judgment."
Looking at the future, Demi said, "I need to focus on myself and my relationship with myself and my relationship with God," explaining she was trying to seek God in other people and harmful substances.
Demi said her upcoming performance will be the start of telling her story.
Demi's music comeback comes after two years out of the spotlight. In 2018, she overdosed on drugs and found herself on a long road to recovery. She is set to perform her new single "Anyone" at the Grammys on January 26, which Demi said tells what she was going through leading up to her overdose and what happened in the aftermath.
"I'm in the process of being more and more ready as time goes by [to talk about it], you know? I think it's taken me a long time to be able to even get this far, which is performing a song that's so vulnerable to me on a stage in front of all of my peers and co-workers and even people that I look up to," Demi said, explaining that while she is nervous, she is grateful to share her story.
She also revealed that her next song will be about what happened during her overdose.
While Demi said her new single "Anyone" explains where she was mentally before and after her overdose, she revealed her next release will explain her overdose story, something she hasn't detailed publicly.
While Demi Lovato didn't reveal which upcoming song it will be or say much more on the subject, fans likely won't have to wait long for its release.
After all, Demi has taken the internet by storm lately, announcing her Grammys performance, Super Bowl performance and new single in quick succession this month. If she keeps going at this rate, seeing a Demi Lovato 2020 album is pretty likely.
