Demi Lovato debuts new song 'Skin of My Teeth' on 'The Tonight Show'

On The Tonight Show Thursday, Demi Lovato dropped by to see their bestie Jimmy Fallon and, while there, the singer performed their new song "Skin of My Teeth" from their new punk rock album, Holy Fvck, for the first time ever.

Lovato performed the new single ahead of its release at midnight on Friday on all the streaming services along with a new music video. The song references their former drug addiction and struggle with mental health, and comes just five months after Lovato returned home after quietly completing another rehab program.

"Demi leaves rehab again/ when is this sh** gonna end/ sounds like the voice in my head/ I can't believe i'm not dead," sang Lovato. "I'm alive by the skin of my teeth/ I survived but it got harder to breathe/ askin' why doesn't make it easier go easier on me/ God help me I just want to be free/ but I can't because it's a disease."

On Thursday, Lovato told Fallon why Holy Fvck, which the singer will release on August 19th, is their best album yet. "After going through even more stuff last year, I came out of treatment again, and I realized, like, I really want to do this for myself and I want to make the best album possible. Something that really represents who I am," shared Lovato.

Lovato added, "The easiest way to do something the most authentic is to do it clean and sober. So I made this album, you know, clean and sober. I can't say that about my last album, but this one I'm really really proud about."
