2020 is quickly looking like it is going to be Demi Lovato's year. She made headlines with her return to music earlier this month, announcing her upcoming Grammys performance.
Now, for the second time this month, she took to Instagram to tease another big upcoming performance. Lovato is set to perform the National Anthem at Super Bowl 2020 on February 2.
"Singing the National Anthem at #SBLIV See you in Miami @NFL," the singer wrote in her Instagram caption alongside a palm tree and football emojis.
Lovato joins the list of top talent who sang the National Anthem before her.
The Super Bowl is known for having powerhouse divas sing the National Anthem before the football game kicks off. In the past, singers like Lady Gaga, Pink, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce Gladys Knight and Whitney Houston belted out the "Star Spangled Banner" for Super Bowl fans.
Whitney Houston's 1991 performance still goes down as one of the best musical performances in sports history and was recorded for fans to buy.
Filmmaker of the 2018 documentary "Whitney" Kevin Macdonald explained to Fox News that Houston changed the way the song was perceived.
"The National Anthem wasn't something that African Americans enjoyed singing or wanted to sing because it had these war-like, oppressive over tones, but Whitney changed the emphasis of the song and made it a song about freedom, rather than a song about oppression," Macdonald said.
However, this isn't Demi's first National Anthem performance.
The Super Bowl made the safe decision to go with a singer who has plenty of practice singing the National Anthem in public. After all, they wouldn't want a Michael Bolton situation, where the singer had to read lyrics off his hand to remember the National Anthem during a 2003 Red Sox v. Yankees game.
Lovato, on the other hand, has performed the anthem many times, singing the "Star Spangled Banner" at professional football and baseball games including The World Series and even at the UFC fight between Mayweather and McGregor.
We can look forward to great performances all night at Super Bowl 2020.
After Demi Lovato stands up to sing the National Anthem, Sharkira and J. Lo will share the stage as co-headliners of the Super Bowl 2020 halftime show.
In a statement to NFL, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira expressed how excited they are for the opportunity.
"Ever since I saw Diana Ross fly off into the sky at the Halftime Show, I dreamed of performing at the Super Bowl and now it's made even more special not only because it's the NFL's 100th anniversary, but also because I am performing with a fellow Latina. I can't wait to show what us girls can do on the world's biggest stage," Lopez said.
Similarly, Shakira followed up with, "I'm so honored to be taking on one of the world's biggest stages in the company of a fellow female artist to represent Latinos and Latinas from the U.S. and all over the world and to top it off, on my birthday! This is a true American dream and we are going to bring the show of a lifetime!"
Where can I watch the 2020 Super Bowl?

The teams facing off haven't yet been decided because preliminary games are still going on until Sunday. However, the teams still in the running are the Titans, Chiefs, Packers and 49ers.
This year, the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida was chosen as the host location.
And for everyone's favorite part, the top things being advertised this year during the Super Bowl's coveted commercials are chips, soda, beer, cars, Facebook and the upcoming presidential election campaign speeches between Trump and Michael Bloomberg.
