A deleted scene from the recently released Marvel film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has revealed a link to the first Iron Man film and the beginnings of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

After the fake Mandarin twist in Iron Man 3, we saw the real Mandarin appear in Shang-Chi as the leader of the Ten Rings, the same organization that kidnapped Tony Stark in the first Iron Man movie.

The deleted scene, released in Shang-Chi's Blu-Ray edition, is titled 'Do It Yourself' and begins after the death of Shang-Chi's mother Ying Li.

We already knew that Shang-Chi's father, Wenwu, returns to the Ten Rings after that tragic loss and resumes control of his criminal empire. But, what we missed with the deleted scene, Wenwu speaks with a captured Iron Gang leader to discuss his meeting with Raza, the leader of Afghanistan's Ten Rings operations.

For those who may not remember, Raza is the name of the Ten Rings leader from Iron Man who was in charge of the mission to capture Tony. The scene doesn't confirm whether Wenwu was behind the kidnapping but since he was overseeing all Ten Rings activity, it suggests that there is a link between the two.

It all comes full circle as Wenwu – or at least his organization – was responsible for the creation of Iron Man, which in turn led to the Avengers, and now Shang-Chi is now going to be welcomed into the fold as an Avenger himself after meeting with Wong, Carol Danvers (aka Captain Marvel) and Bruce Banner, as seen in the post-credits scene.
